With approximately 1,600 employees, CANCOM Austria serves nearly 20,000 clients, including well-known companies such as Erste Bank, OMV, and Red Bull. <\/p>\n

As the \u201cNo. 1 Digital Business Provider,\u201d CANCOM supports companies throughout their entire digital transformation journey \u2013 from strategic consulting and technical implementation to ongoing operations. Its service portfolio includes Modern Workplace, Cloud & Data Center, Cybersecurity, IoT, and AI, among others. A key challenge emerged in day-to-day operations: The complexity of Microsoft\u2019s licensing models made it difficult to ensure consistent and secure classification \u2013 especially across different roles. In particular, employees with a strong technical focus on the cloud (e.g., Azure, pay-as-you-go) had little exposure to the Microsoft 365 licensing landscape. Concepts such as user, device, or client licensing\u2014and the distinctions between them \u2013 were often difficult to grasp. At the same time, there was uncertainty regarding traditional on-premises scenarios, such as those involving Windows Server licensing, CALs, Software Assurance, or security updates. This made it challenging to follow technical and licensing-related discussions with colleagues and customers in a well-informed manner.
The goal was to establish a common understanding, structure knowledge, and convey licensing logic in a practical way \u2013 regardless of the participants\u2019 level of experience. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

LYYNX conducted a two-day Microsoft Licensing Professional (MLP) training session on-site at CANCOM Austria. The focus was on conveying Microsoft licensing knowledge in a clear and practical way\u2014from basic principles to the latest changes and legal frameworks. The training was supplemented by real-world customer scenarios from CANCOM\u2019s day-to-day operations, as well as targeted references to Microsoft Learning Docs. This provided participants not only with knowledge but also with the tools to independently and efficiently look up relevant information in the future. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
