The St. P\u00f6lten City Government is the central administrative authority of the capital of Lower Austria. As a modern local government, it serves approximately 60,000 residents and is responsible for a wide range of services in the areas of citizen services, infrastructure, education, culture, the environment, social affairs, as well as digitalization and IT.
With more than 1,000 employees at various locations, the City of St. P\u00f6lten ensures the efficient delivery of public services and the strategic development of the city. The use of digital solutions plays a central role in this\u2014both for internal process optimization and for providing citizen-centered services. The City of St. P\u00f6lten sees itself as a forward-looking service provider and an innovative driver of municipal development. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Before partnering with LYYNX, the St. P\u00f6lten City Administration was already using a SAM tool (Snow License Manager). Operational license management was time-consuming due to a lack of internal expertise. In addition, assigning licenses to devices was time-consuming and error-prone, as these assignments were tracked in parallel using manual lists, leading to a loss of the necessary overview over time. Compounding this was the challenge of a new Microsoft Enterprise Agreement. The administration therefore decided on a professional solution and outsourced license management to LYYNX. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The City of St. P\u00f6lten implemented SAM | Sense from LYYNX \u2013 a managed service based on its existing SAM tool. LYYNX took over technical support and established an end-to-end license management process. LYYNX handles the centralized management of all software licenses (on-premises and cloud) and maintains them in the SAM tool. As part of the License Management Service (LMS), the customer receives a detailed quarterly license report detailing the current compliance status and recommendations for potential license optimization measures. In addition, LYYNX proactively provides information on relevant developments in the licensing market, such as changes at Microsoft, thereby offering continuous, forward-looking advice. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
